Its fatal flaw wasn't just its horrifying, crab-like shape that embedded into the uterus; it was the multifilament string. Instead of just hanging out, the string acted like a capillary wick, drawing deadly vaginal bacteria straight into the sterile uterus, causing massive pelvic infections and fatalities.
