Most bands accept industry awards with a tearful speech, but The KLF decided to violently detonate their own career instead. At the 1992 BRIT Awards, the acid house pioneers performed a thrash-metal version of their hit song, brought a dead sheep to the after-party, and literally fired an automatic weapon (loaded with blanks) into the terrified audience of music executives. As they left the stage, an announcer declared 'The KLF have now left the music business.' They weren't joking; they deleted their entire back catalog shortly after, choosing absolute chaos over commercial compliance.
