How arrows became answers
Belomancy—divination through arrows—turned a practical weapon into a tool for seeking guidance. A practitioner marked several arrows with possible answers, then shot or released them and treated their movement as a sign. Depending on the method, the arrow that flew farthest or struck a target could determine the choice.
