Lying destitute in a cheap Parisian hotel room in 1900, Oscar Wilde allegedly looked around at the horrific interior decor and quipped, 'My wallpaper and I are fighting a duel to the death. One or the other of us has to go.' He died shortly after, proving that a sharp wit is immune to mortality, but terrible taste in wallpaper is eternal.
