The author of 'Goodnight Moon' was apparently not interested in keeping her fortune in the family. When she died suddenly at age 42, her will revealed she had left the massive, lifelong royalties of her books to Albert Clarke, the nine-year-old son of her neighbor. The boy grew up to inherit millions of dollars just because he casually knew a famous writer who decided to treat her will like a bizarre lottery ticket.
