A closer look

Imagine paying good money to actively smell a movie. Back in 1960, a film called 'Scent of Mystery' utilized a system that pumped 30 different odors into the theater seats synchronized with the film's events. Naturally, it was a colossal disaster. The smells lingered too long, mixed into a nauseating cloud, and arrived late to the scenes, proving that some senses should just be left out of the cinematic experience entirely.
