G.I. Gurdjieff had a rather sadistic approach to hosting dinner parties. He would force his followers to eat massive feasts laced with absolutely nuclear levels of spice, followed by mandatory toasts to 'idiots'. If you coughed, cried, or complained about the chili peppers melting your face off, you failed the esoteric test. It was less of a dinner and more of a gastrointestinal hostage situation.
