In 1954, a wealthy Canadian couple was searching for a fun way to entertain guests aboard their massive luxury yacht. They created a dice game, uncreatively dubbed it the 'Yacht Game,' and successfully pitched it to toy entrepreneur Edwin Lowe. He changed the spelling slightly, monetized it for the masses, and allowed average suburbanites to experience the thrill of aggressively shaking plastic cups like billionaires.
