Fiscal responsibility occasionally demands a little light desecration of the dead. During the muddy pool scene in the 1982 horror classic Poltergeist, actress JoBeth Williams was terrified of the skeletons surrounding her. She had every right to be. The crew later informed her that purchasing custom-made plastic skeletons was far too expensive for the budget, so they simply bought real human skeletons from a medical supply company. Unsurprisingly, this sparked decades of 'cursed set' rumors.
