The name Cortana carries that older association into the world of games. The spelling differs from Curtana, but the reference links a fictional AI to a sword whose significance rests on a limit placed on violence. It is a compact bit of cultural shorthand: a name can suggest both strength and restraint without explaining either in dialogue.
That contrast makes the reference especially memorable. A ceremonial sword is not chiefly remembered for battles it fought; Curtana is recognized by the part of the blade it lacks and the virtue that absence represents.
