A closer look

High school history teacher Ron Jones wanted to show his students how easily ordinary Germans fell for fascism. He succeeded a little too well. By introducing strict classroom discipline, a mandatory salute, and an exclusive sense of belonging, he accidentally birthed an authoritarian movement dubbed "The Third Wave." Within five days, his students were aggressively enforcing loyalty, snitching on dissidents, and operating like a full-blown cult. Jones had to frantically pull the plug on his own experiment before his sophomore class accidentally invaded the neighboring school district.
