A closer look
TSA agents once genuinely confiscated a spectacularly sharp, fully functional batarang from a profoundly confused passenger's carry-on luggage at a major American airport checkpoint. While the massive federal agency is globally famous for aggressively stealing your expensive moisturizing lotion and closely interrogating you over a rogue bottle of water, they occasionally actually intercept legitimate, incredibly weird weaponry. One can only imagine the pure, unadulterated delusion of a grown adult attempting to casually stroll onto a crowded Boeing 737 armed with the preferred tactical throwing weapon of a fictional billionaire vigilante. It is moments like this that almost make you forgive the grueling, barefoot security theater we all endure, knowing there are actual aspiring comic-book ninjas trying to board domestic flights to Cleveland. The real tragedy is that somewhere in a dark, heavily secured federal evidence locker, a really cool piece of Batman memorabilia is sadly collecting dust next to some seized toenail clippers
