Every fighting game tournament you've ever watched owes its existence to lazy code. During the development of Street Fighter II, producer Noritaka Funamizu noticed a bug where a player could input a special move during an attack animation, abruptly canceling the first move and instantly triggering the second. He thought the timing was too impossibly strict for anyone to actually pull off on purpose, so he just left the glitch in. Gamers, naturally, mastered it immediately.
