Mark Wahlberg refused a Yankees cap for The Departed

Sometimes hometown loyalty completely ruins a costume designer's day. While filming Martin Scorsese's The Departed, Boston native Mark Wahlberg was asked to wear a New York Yankees hat for a specific scene. He flatly refused, arguing that putting the rival team's logo on his head would destroy his credibility back home. The production had to settle for a generic hat instead.
