JFK bought 1,200 Cuban cigars before the embargo

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Geopolitics is mostly just hypocrisy with a better PR team. Knowing he was about to sign a devastating trade embargo that would cut off all Cuban imports to the United States, JFK called his press secretary into the Oval Office. He tasked him with acquiring every single H. Upmann petit corona cigar he could find in Washington. Once the 1,200 cigars were secured in his desk, he happily signed the embargo.
