Hubble telescope mirror flaw was repaired by tiny optics

Spending billions on an orbital observatory only to realize someone miscalibrated the main mirror is a fantastic way to panic an entire agency. Rather than dragging the massive satellite back to Earth, engineers essentially built a set of corrective contact lenses for it. A repair crew had to install these delicate modules in zero gravity just to bring the universe into focus.
