Simon electronic memory game was inspired by an arcade game

Because copying a massive coin-operated machine and turning it into a noisy plastic frisbee was a brilliant move. The creators ripped off an obscure Atari arcade game called Touch Me, slapping four bright colored buttons onto a round plastic shell. It eventually became the most annoying, repetitive toy of the entire nineteen eighties.
