Les Misérables started as a neglected concept album

Before it became the juggernaut of musical theater, Les Misérables was just a French concept album that nobody really cared about. It was largely ignored until a British producer heard it and decided to add a massive revolving stage and English lyrics. It goes to show that a story about starving revolutionaries just needs a bit of theatrical polish to rake in millions.
