A closer look

Building a treehouse is a fun childhood project; building an invisible, floating geometric anomaly in a subarctic forest is pure architectural genius. The Treehotel in Sweden features a room aptly named 'The Mirrorcube' that camouflages so flawlessly into the woods that you might walk right past it. To prevent the local avian population from constantly concussing themselves against the reflective glass, the designers coated it in an ultraviolet color visible only to birds. It is a stunning piece of futuristic minimalism that lets you spy on moose while suspended safely in the canopy.
