Gargling this stuff is basically cleaning your mouth with industrial solvent. Listerine was invented in the 19th century as a powerful surgical antiseptic, but they struggled to sell it. They frantically marketed it as a floor scrubber, a dandruff cure, and a deodorant before completely fabricating a fake medical condition called 'halitosis' (bad breath). The public panicked, and they've been buying floor cleaner to gargle ever since.
