A closer look
Fighting games aren't brawls; they are high-speed, mathematical negotiations. A frame trap is a masterclass in psychological manipulation. By understanding that a single animation runs at 60 frames per second, a player intentionally leaves a 2 or 3-frame gap in their block string. This gap is mathematically too short for the defender's fastest attack to fully execute, but just long enough to make them think it's their turn to swing. When they take the bait and drop their guard, your pre-planned follow-up strike crashes into their vulnerable startup frames, punishing them for believing in hope.
