Thulium is so scarce it remains commercially useless

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Thulium is the tragic outcast of the periodic table. It is incredibly difficult to isolate, absurdly expensive to purify, and possesses absolutely zero unique properties that another, significantly cheaper element cannot do better. It essentially exists just to be ridiculously scarce, taking up a spot on the chart while aggressively avoiding being helpful.
