Why guinea pigs struggle in the heat

These tiny, squeaking potatoes are completely devoid of functional sweat glands, meaning a hot summer day is a legitimate existential threat to them. Without the ability to perspire, they have to seek out cool ceramic tiles to lie on or wait for a sympathetic human to give them frozen vegetables. They are remarkably fragile for an animal that reproduces so enthusiastically.
