Trey Parker and Matt Stone pushed the boundaries of the MPAA by employing anatomically featureless dolls. To mock Hollywood's gratuitous romance tropes, they filmed two tangled strings of wood and fabric engaging in acrobatic, intensely lubricated gymnastics, forcing the ratings board into the deeply uncomfortable position of having to censor the imaginary genitals of children's toys.
