The impenetrable fortress walls are entirely an optical illusion made of paper and lies. Constructed mostly from flimsy quarter-inch plywood stretched over thin pine frames, set walls are deeply hollow. If an actor accidentally slams a door slightly too hard, the entire room will violently wobble, instantly ruining the take and causing massive panic among the carpenters.
