HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

We mostly associate helicopters with the Vietnam War, but the Nazis beat everyone to the punch. The Flettner Fl 282 was a fully functional, twin-rotor helicopter used by the German navy for submarine spotting in 1942. Fortunately for the Allies, they only managed to build about 24 of them before the factories were enthusiastically bombed into rubble.
