Long before tech bros hyped up biohacking, Otto Schmitt was literally raiding the ocean for engineering ideas. By studying the electrophysiology of giant squid nerves, he reverse-engineered how they propagate signals to create the Schmitt trigger. He basically ripped off a mollusk's biology to invent a noise-filtering electronic circuit we still use today.
