A closer look

Official bulletproof Popemobiles used by the leader of the Catholic Church are strictly electronically limited to a maximum speed of just under forty miles per hour. While the reinforced glass box provides excellent protection against sniper fire and chaotic crowds, it essentially turns the Holy Father into the slowest-moving target on the highway during any official transit. The vehicle is intentionally geared for creeping through adoring masses at a glacial pace, meaning that if a high-speed chase were ever to occur, the Vatican security team would easily be outrun by a moderately motivated teenager on a stolen moped. It must be incredibly frustrating for the pontiff to sit inside a heavily modified luxury engine completely castrated by safety protocols, knowing he could never make a quick getaway if he wanted to hit a drive-thru unnoticed. Faith might move mountains, but it apparently cannot bypass a factory-installed speed governor
