Whiteboards rely on non-porous glass to reject ink stains
HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART
The magic of an endlessly reusable writing surface has nothing to do with the ink and everything to do with a microscopic shield. Whiteboards are coated in incredibly smooth melamine or porcelain, leaving absolutely no microscopic pores or scratches for pigments to hide in. The ink tries to aggressively grip the board, but is forced to sit vulnerably on the ultra-slick surface until an eraser smashes it away.
