Graphene was peeled from graphite with sticky tape

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

To isolate a miraculous one-atom-thick layer of carbon that is hundreds of times stronger than steel, scientists didn't use billion-dollar lasers. Two researchers just took a block of graphite and repeatedly peeled regular office tape off it until they were left with a single, transparent layer. They literally won a Nobel Prize for playing with Scotch tape.
