After the brutal Siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD, the Roman legions aggressively looted the Second Temple, hauling massive amounts of gold, silver, and thousands of highly skilled slaves back to Rome. Emperor Vespasian heavily utilized these stolen funds to completely finance the construction of the massive Flavian Amphitheatre, now known as the Colosseum.
