Thompson famously requested that upon his death, his cremated remains be shot out of a 150-foot cannon shaped like a massive fist clutching a peyote button. After Thompson passed away in 2005, his close friend Johnny Depp casually dropped three million dollars to build the absurd artillery piece on the writer's Colorado farm. It's truly a beautiful, deafening testament to recreational drug use and deep friendship.
