Aristotle genuinely believed that the lines on a person's palm were physical manifestations of their soul's history, famously stating that 'lines are not written into the human hand without reason'. He reportedly used palmistry to advise Alexander the Great on which officers were trustworthy, effectively creating the world's first mystical HR department.
