Augmented reality is doing wonders for the cosmetic surgery industry. Digital filters that automatically slim noses and enlarge eyes have created such severe body dysmorphia that surgeons report massive spikes in patients bringing in filtered photos of themselves as reference. We are literally paying surgeons to make us look like our digital avatars.
