Chewbacca’s iconic voice in Star Wars was created by mixing the roars of bears, walruses, lions, and badgers. Sound designer Ben Burtt spent months traveling to zoos to record angry animals just to dub over Peter Mayhew acting his heart out in a giant walking carpet suit. The most loyal co-pilot in galactic history is essentially an aggressive audio smoothie of agitated zoo animals. It really ruins the cinematic majesty of the Millennium Falcon jumping to hyperspace when you realize Harrison Ford is just having a heartfelt conversation with the sound of a very annoyed badger layered over a sick walrus
