George Lucas filmed a cameo appearance with the members of the 90s boy band NSYNC as Jedi Knights in the background of Star Wars Attack of the Clones to appease his teenage daughters. The pop stars were fully dressed in Jedi robes and swung lightsabers in a massive arena battle, only for Lucas to ruthlessly cut their scene from the final theatrical release. It is completely hilarious that the creator of the most lucrative sci-fi franchise in history used a multimillion-dollar production just to win some dad points, and then cowardly erased the evidence when hardcore nerds started complaining. Justin Timberlake was tragically denied the chance to permanently ruin the immersive lore of a galaxy far, far away with frosted tips and coordinated dance choreography. At least we can take comfort in knowing that a bunch of pop idols trained for a mythical space war only to end up on the cutting room floor
