Honeybees can headbutt scouts over bad hive choices

Democracy in the animal kingdom is surprisingly violent. When a European honeybee swarm is searching for a new hive, scouts perform "waggle dances" to pitch their favorite locations. If a scout thinks another bee's choice is pure garbage, they will aggressively headbutt the dancer and emit a high-pitched beep to silence them. It is a ruthless, highly efficient veto system humanity could learn from.
