Why Inside Out swapped broccoli for peppers in Japan

Ah, the universal childhood trauma of eating vegetables—except it’s not universal at all. In the US release of 'Inside Out', the young protagonist is disgusted by a slice of broccoli pizza. However, Japanese children apparently love broccoli, so animators had to meticulously swap the offending vegetable to green bell peppers so audiences would understand the horror.
