Dark mode won't save battery on an LCD screen

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

People obsessively switch their apps to dark mode thinking it conserves electricity. However, if you are using an older LCD screen, the backlight remains fully illuminated behind those black pixels, draining your battery exactly the same amount. You are saving your retinas from burning, but you are absolutely not saving your phone.
