China’s trains follow painted lines instead of rails

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

It's essentially a bus with delusions of grandeur. China's Autonomous Rail Rapid Transit (ART) system uses a network of sensors and cameras to follow painted lines on the road. It looks exactly like a modern tram but requires zero steel track infrastructure, making it incredibly cheap to deploy and thoroughly confusing to regular motorists.
