Before they built Xboxes and Surface tablets, Bill Gates' empire tested the hardware waters with a piece of ugly plastic. Nicknamed the 'Green-Eyed Mouse' because of its two distinctive buttons, the 1983 peripheral was bundled with Microsoft Word to force people into learning graphical interfaces. It was awkward, heavy, and absolutely necessary for modern computing.
