A closer look

The jewel wasp is nature's most diabolical neurosurgeon. When it needs a nursery, it aggressively tackles a cockroach and stabs its stinger directly into the bug's brain, perfectly targeting the ganglia responsible for the escape reflex. The venom completely disables the roach's free will, allowing the wasp to walk the massive insect back to its lair like a dog on a leash, where it is eaten alive by the wasp's horrible little larvae.
