Garamond could save millions in printer ink
Printer ink is basically liquid gold, costing more per ounce than vintage champagne. Because Garamond has a much lighter stroke weight and smaller footprint at the same point size as Times New Roman, it uses drastically less ink. A 14-year-old student actually published a study proving the US government could save $400 million a year if they just stopped using aggressively thick typography.
