There is nothing more embarrassing for a dark magician than throwing a tantrum and nobody noticing. The self-proclaimed "Great Beast" claimed he performed an intense ritual to become completely invisible while walking through a hostile occultist lodge. The reality? He was wearing a ridiculous velvet robe and a silly hat. The other members decided the best way to handle this egotistical lunatic was to aggressively pretend he wasn't there, which Crowley took as undeniable proof his magic worked.
