Bawa Muhaiyaddeen wasn't actively trying to start a global following. He was completely hidden deep inside the dense jungles of Sri Lanka until a random group of people wandering around looking for a nice place to have a picnic accidentally stumbled right into his camp. His entire international trajectory began because someone wanted a good spot to eat sandwiches.
