You can estimate pi by throwing sticks
Buffon's Needle is a bizarre geometric probability trick. If you drop a bunch of identically sized straight sticks onto a floor made of parallel parallel planks, the probability of a stick crossing a seam is directly tied to Pi. You can mathematically calculate the digits of Pi purely by blindly throwing enough sticks on the ground and counting the overlapping intersections.
