Real indoor plants require water, sunlight, and a stable temperature, three things that absolutely do not exist on a windowless, chaotic soundstage. Real foliage wilts under the blistering heat of the lighting rigs, so decorators rely heavily on highly detailed, fire-retardant silk duplicates. No matter how many months the shoot lasts, that ficus in the corner will look perpetually flawless.
