A closer look

Alaskan state troopers still actively utilize dog sleds as an entirely legitimate form of official law enforcement transportation in highly remote, snowbound areas. While most modern police departments are busy purchasing heavily armored tactical vehicles, Alaskan officers are hooking up a team of screaming huskies to chase down criminals across the frozen tundra. The sheer logistics of feeding and maintaining a pack of highly energetic sled dogs is completely maddening compared to just putting gas in a snowmobile, but the dogs never suffer from engine failure at fifty below zero. Getting arrested is already a terrible experience, but being hauled away to jail in a wooden basket pulled by aggressively enthusiastic canines really adds an extra layer of cinematic humiliation
