Why men's and women's shirts button differently
HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART
There is a deeply unnecessary historical reason you fumble with your shirt in the morning. Historically, wealthy women did not dress themselves; their servants did. To make it easier for a right-handed servant facing the wearer, the buttons were placed on the left. We have aggressively maintained this minor inconvenience for centuries just to honor out-of-date dressing habits.
