Genius often flirts with absolute absurdity. Kurt Godel reshaped the foundations of mathematical logic, but his brilliant mind eventually turned entirely against him. He developed an obsessive delusion that unseen enemies were trying to poison his meals, completely refusing to eat unless his wife tasted it first. When she was hospitalized, he simply starved to death.
